My name is Aurora and I am based in beautiful Southsea.

I’m an artist, a photographer, a writer, a gamer and a storyteller. I love to dance in the sunshine, sing the same song on repeat while I edit, I cook a badass veggie lasagne and on my weekends I play Dungeons and Dragons.

I love people. Which is weird because I’m pretty introverted. I love hearing stories, and writing my own. I fell in love with photography when I was really little. I grew up in a yurt in some bluebell woods. My childhood was the kind of magic where we played in lakes and covered ourselves in paint and picked blackberries off bushes and baked them in pies (that I then refused to eat). Nature is at the centre of everything I do and in my world, the Romanticist period never ended.

My favourite thing to photograph is love stories. At the beginning of this journey, I thought maybe that only meant couples. But then my couples got pregnant, and they had babies. And then I realised I wanted to photograph every stage, every moment, every chapter in your love story.

I have a degree in Photography from the University of Portsmouth. I worked for four years as the Creative Director for two beautiful photography companies in Southsea. I photographed newborns, women, maternity, couples and everything in between. And as much as I adored my time there, I struck out on my own in 2022 because sometimes the next chapter is ready for you, even when you don’t know that you’re ready for it.

I’m a self-portrait artist. I was featured on Sky Arts in the 2020 Rankin programme, and in the book of the same name, for my self-portrait work during lockdown. I released an online solo exhibition called ‘do it cos you love it’ when I graduated, featuring 52 self-portraits made during the 2021 lockdown.

Since 2022 I create a self-portrait for every month of the year. Sometimes it celebrates the start or end of a chapter in my life. Sometimes I stick flowers to my face or oil paint in my mouth just because.
